In response to an acute housing shortage, POF has assisted the Nalta Prosthetic and Orthotic Center in Bangladesh with the planning and construction of several family and single housing units.
The housing units provide a safe, convenient location for patients and their caregivers as well as medical staff and visiting volunteer guests. Having available housing will encourage doctors to remain at the rural hospital and help patients' families stay near a loved one during their hospital stay.
Construction for the new floor began in the fall of 2005 and was completed in December of 2006. Below are some photos from the year-long project.
