Crossing Oceans to Walk on Land, the 2006 POF Dinner Auction held on March 4 in Seattle, was a rousing success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, donors and guests, POF was able to raise over $125,000!
Sponsors included Chris Ishii and Pierce Scranton, M.D., at the Platinum level; Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics and Rainier Surgical, Inc., at the Silver level, and Northwest Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinic at the Bronze level.
During the evening, Cyril Faulkner, a Sierra Leonean native, spoke eloquently about the need for POF services in Sierra Leone as he encouraged guests to give generously so that POF can purchase an outreach vehicle for its Sierra Leone program. The vehicle will be used to bring prosthetic care to children and adult amputees who cannot travel to the prosthetics center that POF is building in the country.
Also at the March 4 POF Dinner Auction, retired POF board member Dwayne Copple received POF’s 2006 Spirit of Service Award. In presenting the award, POF Board President Donna Burgess recognized Mr. Copple for 16 years of service on the board of the Prosthetics Outreach Foundation. Mr. Copple was a founding member of the organization and will continue to provide pro bono legal services for the Foundation.
