Bagby Family Endowment Fund - The Gift that Keeps on Giving

George W. Bagby, M.D.

In 2006, former POF Board member George W. Bagby, M.D. generously donated $250,000 in seed money to start the Bagby Family Endowment Fund.

The fund is intended to support the delivery of medical services to impoverished children and adults in southwestern Bangladesh through the Nalta Hospital. Over time, the endowment is expected to support other programs of the Prosthetics Outreach Foundation also.

The Nalta Hospital was founded in 2000 with donations from Dr. Bagby and Prof. Dr. Ruhal Haque, Bangladesh's leading orthopedic surgeon and chief patron of the hospital. The hospital includes a prosthetics and orthotics center as well as orthopedic surgical department and, among other medical services, provides eye and dental care to hundreds of Bangladeshis each year.

Each year, interest earned from the endowment is available to support the delivery of medical services to children and adults in need in Bangladesh and possibly elsewhere. As the fund grows, so does our ability to help more men, women and children.

If you would like to learn more about this fund, please do not hesitate to call our Executive Director, Winfried Danke, at (206) 726-1636 or info@pofsea.org.
